The wonderful Schubert Ensemble is one of the world’s leading exponents of music for piano and strings and they’re performing the Shostakovich and Schumann piano quintets – both really exhilarating and joyous pieces – with the evocative Mahler Piano Quartet Movement to start (details below).

The Ensemble has decided to bring its 35-year career to a close at the end of June 2018 and is seeing out its final season in celebratory style, with around fifty concerts planned in the UK and abroad, so we’re very lucky to have got them to perform at TMC and it’s a great opportunity to hear them before they ‘retire’.
