On Saturday 15 October 2022 we were thrilled to welcome the international superstar trumpeter Alison Balsom and trailblazing organist Anna Lapwood to Tonbridge for the opening concert of our 60th Anniversary season.

The evening offered an immersive musical journey, with lighting reflecting each piece as the works segued from one to the next, The programme included an eclectic mix of repertoire from Albinoni to a world premiere by rising star composer Kristina Arekelyan, who we were delighted to welcome to the concert. There were arrangements by both artists including Alain’s Litanies (Balsom); Britten’s Sunday Morning which received its premiere in a new arrangement by Anna Lapwood, as well as Debussy’s Syrinx and JS Bach’s Erbarm dich Chorale (Balsom/Lapwood).
