Alex Trigg was born in Tonbridge in 2001, but spent much of his childhood in Cambridge as a King’s College chorister under Sir Stephen Cleobury. He returned to Kent as a Music Scholar at Tonbridge School, and became heavily involved with the local music scene: Alex founded and directed The Tudeley Singers from 2018 to 2025, built a new social media and online presence for Tonbridge Music Club in 2018 and volunteered as Manager of The Lydian Orchestra for six years, rebuilding the ensemble to its former strength after the pandemic.

Now based in Cambridge once more, Alex enjoys a diverse freelance career as an Organist, Director and Educator.

A champion of youth music, Alex is passionate about widening access and participation. As Founder and Director of the St Andrew’s Music School, Alex is currently designing and implementing an exciting programme of outreach with local schools, as well as provision for free music education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Alex works regularly with a number of choirs in Cambridge, including the University Church of Great St Mary’s, and the Cambridge Philharmonic. He is also Assistant Director of Cambridge Schola – the University’s newest choir – which he played a pivotal role in forming last year.

As an organist, Alex continues his own studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with Daniel Moult, Nicholas Wearne and Nathan Laube. In June, he will be giving the inaugural recital on the Conservatoire’s new Lady of Clare Baroque organ. Other forthcoming recitals include Magdalen College Oxford, St George’s Hanover Square and St Paul’s Cathedral. Alex has previously held Organ Scholarships at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and St John’s College, Cambridge.

Alex is delighted to be returning to his hometown, and the beautiful church of All Saints’ Tudeley, to perform for TMC.
